This is a brief introduction for parents into the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, which will be a statutory requirement by September 2008, which is aiming to set the standards for learning development and care for children from birth to 5 years of age.

The aim of the EYFS is to help young children achieve the five Every Child Matters outcomes which are:

• Staying Safe
• Being Healthy
• Enjoying & Achieving
• Making a positive contribution
• Achieving economic wellbeing

At the Fun Farm Day Nursery we want to ensure a close working relationship with parents/carers working in partnership to support each other. We feel this is a vital part of a child’s Early Education.

There will be a file kept in the reception area if you want to read more about the EYFS, also posters will be in every room and you are more than welcome to discuss the EYFS with our members of staff.
