Our Pre School is a new addition to the nursery and arrived in March 2010. Our pre-school children loved the "big move" and watched the portakabin arrive and be put together! They adore their new "Classroom" and all its different features.

We are very busy bunch of beavers in the Pre-School and are always up to something! Some of our favourite features are outlined below.

PE sessions
We do two PE sessions a week and do a different activity each time. We all bring in our own PE kits and get ourselves changed (with a bit of help if we need it!). Activities we have done in the past include sticky kids work out, races, dancing to different styles of music, and ballet lessons with Jess.

Library Books
We are allowed to take a book home from nursery each week to read at home. We also draw a little picture to show our teachers how much we have read at home.

Planning/Topic
When we want to learn about something new we all sit down together with our teachers and choose our next topic. When we have picked what we would like to do we each come up with an idea for an activity or something we can play with. We write it down on a HUGE piece of paper which goes up on the wall for everyone to see.

Letter Sound
We learn a new "letter sound" each time we change our topic. When we have chosen our letter we practise how to say the sound of it every day and try to think of words that start with that sound. We can also bring in things from home that start with the letter sound we are learning.

Farmer
Each week we have a "Farmer of the week". The farmer has special jobs to do throughout the week. They choose the snack sometimes, help prepare it and help with the washing up and putting the pots away.
